FREE Pilot Online! - Foundations of Mindfulness Practice
This full 4-week series will be announced soon! Space will be limited to the first 20 RSVPs. Dates will be Thursday evenings September 22 & 29, October 6 & 13 from 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM.
This pilot will introduce you to foundational practices in mindfulness, instruction on meditation posture, and provide short guided formal meditations. Engaging with informal practices will also be covered, along with information and research on neuroplasticity and the neurobiology of stress. Many of the tools introduced here are based on the curriculum of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
To ensure the best possible experience for all participants, the program relies on video conferencing via Zoom and has the minimum requirements of having a computer, tablet or smart phone with speakers, microphone, and video capabilities, and a high-speed internet connection
The 8-Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course
The program, as developed by the University of Massachusetts Medical School by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD (see MBSR Course tab). To register for an orientation, fill out the contact form indicating which orientation you will attend. The orientation is FREE and will help you to see if the course is a good fit and is also required before signing up for the series. Payment for the course is submitted with the registration form completed after the orientation.
Ongoing Support for MBSR 8 Week Course Graduates
Support for graduates of the eight week course, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). This class will revisit the formal and informal practices taught in the MBSR course. Come with your questions, practice obstacles and curiosity.
Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation
If you are new to Mindfulness and Meditation this class is for you! Why Mindfulness? Whatever challenges unfold in life, Mindfulness practice trains the capacity to be fully present with all that life presents. The good, the not so good and even the mundane.
We will explore ways to be mindful in everyday life and learn both formal and informal meditation practices. Investigation of the mind-body connection will be at the center of our exploration. All are invited to classes:
